Dirum Dominate the Pool at Xavier Secondary Swimming Carnival

Last Friday the 7th of February the annual Xavier Secondary Swimming Carnival took place. Even though the skies seemed to threated rain, the day turned out to be a lovely cool overcast day, proving for some excellent racing conditions. The day started with our mayor, Gerard O’Connell, judging the war cry competition and had a very hard decision to make with all houses giving it their all. Buthu were named the winners and this was the start of a very good day of competition for the blue house. The day ran very smoothly with some excellent results and records broken all over the pool! The teacher and student race proved a very entertaining end to the day’s activities. It was the mighty Dirum who pipped Buthu at the post with a strong performance all day. I’d like to thank the wonderful staff for their efforts on the day as without them the carnival would not have been the success that it was. Let’s see if Dirum can continue their winning streak for the Cross Country early in week 2!

Stay tuned for next week’s newsletter where the age champions will be announced after they receive their medallions on assembly.
