 Fraser Coast Interschool Equestrian Competition

On Thursday 28th and Friday 29th August the college was represented by a team of riders, and their horses, at the annual Fraser Coast Interschool Equestrian Competition at the Maryborough Showgrounds. This year five riders, and their horses, competed in a field of over 240 riders from 50 schools. Nellie Davis (yr5), Elias Broome (yr5), Cheyann Johansen (yr9), Georgia Lynem (yr9) and Nadine Dodd (yr12), and their steeds Star, Zoro, Willie, Credit & Jett competed in a wide range of events including Dressage, Show Jumping, Hacking, Stockman’s Challenge and Sporting over the two days.  Unfortunately our other rider, Brady Lynem (yr10) and horse Star, had to withdraw from the event at the last minute due to illness. The students represented the college proudly and achieved good results across the range of disciplines.
The students, and their steeds, performed admirably in this very large competition and are to be commended on their efforts and extensive preparations leading up to the events over the two days. Results included a 1st in Trail (Elias), a 2nd in Keyhole and 4th in Hack (Nadine), a 3rd in sporting (Georgia) and a 5th in Hack and Encouragement Award in sporting (Nellie). This is the fourth consecutive year the college has been represented at this large equestrian event. Special thanks to Mrs Radosevic and Mrs Davis for their assistance leading up to, and including the event. Thanks also to the students’ parents who assisted at the event and provided some great photos for the college archive.
