 Leadership Address – Term 4, Week 2, 2016

Welcome Back! To what we are sure will be a fast paced and busy term.

Celebrating student achievement

This term will see us holding our Celebration Evenings to recognise student achievements over a range of areas. All students are expected to attend their relevant celebration evening and share the success of all students. We ask you to put these dates into your Calendars and look out for information about each evening as they are published.

  • Senior Celebration                                         Wednesday 26th October
  • Middle School Celebration                           Tuesday 22nd November
  • Spirit Night (Junior Evening)                        Tuesday 29th November
Buthu Mission Week

This week Buthu holds their Mission Week and have organised a range of activities to raise money for their charity. The highlight will definitely be the Crazy Sock Competition, however, students will also be able to purchase Ice Cream Cups and items at the Bake Sale. Students will be encouraged to bring along coins to take part in the Coin Challenge.

Canteen Convenor

This term we welcome Mrs. Liz Mee who has joined our staff as the Canteen Convenor. Liz has taken over from Mrs. Cheryl Watson who retired earlier this year.

Before School in Junior School

A reminder to all parents of students in Prep-Yr 5 that all students who arrive at school before 8.30am must go to Goa with their school bags and wait there until they are dismissed by the teacher on duty. Students should be arriving at school no earlier than 8.10am as there is no teacher supervision until this time. The students will be dismissed from Goa at 8.30am. Students and parents should not be at classrooms before 8.30am unless they have a teacher/parent interview scheduled. Thank you for your assistance with these before school procedures.

Junior School assembly

Our Junior School assembly time has changed to 9.00am on Wednesday mornings in Goa. We will begin our assemblies after Prayer Examen and parents are welcome to come along to our assemblies each week.

All Schools Touch Carnival

Last weekend students from years 8 to 12 travelled to the Sunshine Coast to participate in the Touch Carnival. We had 6 teams compete who have been training since the beginning of the year. We especially thank the staff who have given considerable time in preparing the teams – Mr. Paul Barker, Ms. Belinda France, Mrs. Tracey Moore Ms. Blaire Roffey and Mr. Brad Mitchell.
