College Captains 2013/14

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of interviewing our Yr 11 students who have put up their hand for College Captaincy. I was impressed with all the applicants, their attitudes and ideas for our Xavier Community. Indeed all of them talked to the need to continue to build community through right relationships and always striving for the Magis. To be considered for school captain, applicants are screened by firstly seeking feedback from their classroom teachers. Secondly, the applicants are required to submit an application form outlining their involvement in both the Xavier and their wider community. Finally the applicants are interviewed by our Director of Pastoral Care and myself. Successful applicants then prepare a short speech on leadership which is delivered to our Year 6 to 12 assembly.

Congratulations to the following students who were selected to address staff and students at today’s Assembly:

Emily Jackson, Tayla Jones, Taryn Miles-Polit, Conor McMahon, Thomas O’Neill, Quin Schluter, Anna Sullivan and Daniel Willis.

Following the assembly our year 11’s students and staff voted for Captain and Vice-Captain. I would like to thank all of our Yr 11 students who have offered their services in the special role of leadership.

Congratulations to our 2013/14 College Captains:

Captain – Daniel Willis

Vice Captain – Conor McMahon

Captain – Emily Jackson

Vice Captain – Anna Sullivan
