POOL HEATS UP AT XCC's SWIMMING CARNIVAL

Xavier Catholic College held their annual Secondary Swimming Carnival on Friday 8th  February 2013 at the Hervey Bay Aquatic Centre and the competition could not have been more nail-biting!

The Year 8-12 swimming carnival saw the official start to the inter-house challenge – what a great way to get the year started with fantastic weather and plenty of competition in and out of the water. Buthu House set out to defend their 2012 trophy, however the other three houses (Kondari, Dirum and Narwari) made it clear from the start that they were true contenders for the trophy.

The day was filled with crazy costumes, competitive races, novelty events and fun! The war cry competition was particularly entertaining this year and it was judged by Councillor Trevor McDonald who announced Narwari as the winners. The teacher verse student race at the end of the day was lots of fun with some teachers beating student teams. Narwari seniors student team took out the race, closely followed by Kondari teachers.

With some great performances and mass participation by all students, Dirum House came out on top!

A big congratulations to Dirum and to all our age champions!
