 Welcome Fr Marty Larsen

G’day, my name is Fr Marty Larsen and I will be helping out in the parish from July 2nd, 2016.  I am looking forward to ‘walking’ with you in the various ministries that we share and I am looking forward to helping you to celebrate the ‘uniqueness’ of your lives.

I am one of three, so that means I am a triplet, and no, my two brothers are not priests.  My mum lives in Toowoomba and I have family spread all over Queensland.  I grew up in Bundaberg, I attended Nudgee College and have spent a lot of time in Brisbane working.

I have shared my life with many people in a variety of professions. I have been a waiter, a chef, and a security guard.  I have worked for the SES and have been a traffic controller. I am still a registered teacher and taught for ten years.

I love watching Dr Who.  I love the cricket, particularly Steve Smith. I support the North Queensland Cowboys.  I love sausage rolls and anything savory and I cannot eat salmon or chocolate.  They give me migraines.

On June 27th, I celebrated my second year as a priest.  I was a seminarian in Redcliffe, I was a Deacon in Caloundra and I have been an Associate Pastor in Maroochydore.  I love being able to share the sacraments with people. I enjoy visiting the schools and engaging with staff and students, and I look forward to the daily routine of the parish.

Kind Regards,

Fr Marty
