 Xavier Netball

Last Thursday the under 15s and Open netball teams competed in the Wide Bay regional round of the interstate netball competition, the Vicki Wilson Cup. The Open team came away with 7 wins out of 9 games only going down by a few points to the top teams. The player voted most valuable player for the day was awarded to Captain, Ella Wyvill. The under 15’s had a great day of netball playing their hearts out. They came away with 3 wins out of 9 games and their most valuable player was awarded to Madi McGovern. We were lucky enough to have Mrs Carmel Donnelly and Chantelle McCarthy represent the teams as their umpires. Their commitment and support of the day was much appreciated. All in all, a lovely day with lots of memories made between the two teams under the fig trees at the Maryborough Netball Association. This brings Xavier Catholic College's netball season to a close. A big thanks to the P&F Association, the parents of the players, the staff who have helped out with training and events and of course to our wonderful team members. Your smiles, enthusiasm and sheer talent have made for a very successful year of netball.

Looking forward to an even stronger year of netball in 2017.
