Xavier Catholic College offers a variety of sports and recreation activities for students. Each year the school runs swimming, cross country and athletics carnival events and schedules health and fitness sessions each week. Individual and team sports are also offered, with students competing in local, state and inter-state competitions annually.
Each year all students (Prep to Year 12) participate in Xavier's Swimming Carnival, held at the Hervey Bay Aquatic Centre. The junior and senior carnivals features individual races, house and staff relays, novelty events and a war cry competition.
Cross Country Carnival
The Junior and Senior Cross Country Carnivals are held on site with students completing cross country courses mapped out around school grounds and surrounding areas.
The Athletics Carnival is always a highlight for students and staff alike. Students participate in track and field events, including sprints, high jump, long jump, shot put, javelin and more. Novelty events are popular, bringing out the house spirit in all students.
Team and Individual Sports
Each year, Xavier offers a wide variety of team and individual sports. Xavier has a great history of participation and success in local, state and national competitions. Some of these sports include:
