It is in Year 4 that students
experience their first “camp”. On the
first day, the students participate in a series of activities that are based on
the camping experience. This includes cooking biscuits for supper, liturgy
writing and an environmental walk.
That evening, students spend the night
“sleeping out” at school, before heading to Fraser Island the next day where
they are given the opportunity to experience the wonderful natural environment found
on our very own doorstep. Staff and students are
escorted by Park Rangers while on the island and they provide a wealth of information about the indigenous history, bush tucker
and other unique environmental features.
One of the highlights of Year Four camp is
eating lunch in a restaurant and being very grown up.
