Choral Program

The Xavier choral program consists of two choirs – a Junior Choir (years 3-7) and a Senior Choir (years 8-12). The choirs have weekly rehearsals and sing a wide variety of repertoire which includes contemporary, jazz, classical and spiritual pieces. Each year the choirs have a hectic performance schedule, singing in a variety of school and community events. These include the Maryborough Eisteddfod, The Queensland Catholic Schools Music Festival, singing at local nursing homes, school assemblies and liturgies.

 Instrumental Music Program

Xavier is very proud of its Instrumental Music Program. The program is open to students from Prep to Year 12; students receive music lessons for a variety of woodwind, percussion, brass and string instruments and can participate in the Concert Band, Stage Band and Drumline. Xavier's bands compete at local and state eisteddfod's, including the Catholic Schools Music Festival, each year and go on an annual camp.

APEX Debating

Xavier Catholic College has a long history of success in debating. Each year, students from the Middle and Senior school participate in the APEX Debating Competition, competing against debating teams from around the Fraser Coast. In the past, Xavier teams have had success at local, wide bay and state finals.

Musicals are held every two years at Xavier. 2010 saw Xavier students shine in the production of "Razzamatazz" and 2012's performance is sure to be bigger and better. This year's musical is entitled, "Six Characters in Search of a Musical" and performance dates will be in late July. Stay tuned for more information!
