Our mission for the College is to provide a high quality education within our Catholic tradition where all are engaged in their learning, challenged and motivated to do their best.

As a College we have a unique opportunity to build a learning community. This web site represents an important tool in bringing all in our community together, students, parents and staff, as co-learners.

Learning and teaching at Xavier College will be learner centred. It will be achieved through a variety of learning experiences and teaching strategies. Our aim is to cater for the learning needs and styles of all learners. Learning experiences involve a commitment of the learner to continuous reflection and re-evaluation.

Pedagogical practices adhere to the philosophies espoused by St Francis Xavier, our patron saint, who valued the inherent good in every human person and treated them with dignity accordingly. St Francis was one of the seven men who founded the Society of Jesus - the Jesuits. They believed that God was to be found in all things and that the world must be stayed in, not withdrawn from and that all human endeavours could be sanctified for the greater glory of God. Our aim is to assist the formation of our students to become young men and women of competence, conscience, and compassion with an attitude of excellence and service. Underpinning all that we do is the common belief that as a community we should work in partnership to "find Jesus in all things".
